Internal Medicine for Primary Care / Conference in Addiction, Bariatrics, Neurology, Oncology
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 16 (part II) MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to: • Describe strategies for identifying and treating substance use disorders • Discuss options for patients with chronic pain addictions • Discuss obesity treatment including both surgical and non-surgical options • Describe the approach to patient management after bariatric surgery • Perform a neurological exam as well as distinguish signs of weakness and other neurological disorders • Describe the differential diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders • Discuss the spectrum of sleep disorders and current management strategies • Discuss the approach and subsequent therapeutic management of the cancer patient, as well as the cancer survivor
